CREAM CENTRE
The brief was to create a contemporary dining space that felt polished enough for an occasion, yet relaxed enough to become a familiar neighbourhood restaurant. Rather than building the identity around a strong theme, the idea was to give the space a sense of quiet permanence — something elegant, comfortable and slightly nostalgic. A restrained classical language of wall mouldings, arched mirrors and brass details brings formality, while the deep blue upholstery gives the restaurant its character and keeps the atmosphere warm and approachable.
The planning is deliberately open and ordered, with long banquettes and freestanding tables creating a clear rhythm through the room. Full-height glazing draws the surrounding landscape into the interior, allowing the greenery to soften the otherwise refined palette of marble, white walls, timber and brass.
The transition between these bright garden-facing edges and the more intimate inner dining areas gives the restaurant different moods through the day. Details such as the globe pendants, slender metal screens and abstract brass-lined wall panelling add moments of richness without overwhelming the architecture, resulting in a space that feels composed, familiar and quietly celebratory.
