THE MARINA

The restaurant originally had a fairly blank, formal character, so the design approach was to loosen it up and make the space feel more relaxed and approachable. The interiors were built around a few strong moves that could immediately shift the mood — a soft marine blue across the ceiling, warmer timber surfaces, graphic wall art and a more layered lighting scheme. The fresh seafood display was kept visually prominent, allowing the food itself to become part of the identity of the space and giving the restaurant a sense of energy as soon as you enter.

The marine references are worked into the space in a more graphic and architectural way. Oversized fish and octopus illustrations animate the walls, while the slim metal partitions use circular frames that subtly suggest portholes without feeling too obvious. These screens help divide the dining areas while still allowing light and views to pass through, so the restaurant feels open but not completely exposed.

The lighting was kept warm and decorative to soften the harder finishes, and the mix of bench seating, loose chairs and smaller dining pockets gives the space a more relaxed rhythm. Overall, the design is playful in places, but the composition remains controlled — every element ties back to the identity of a seafood restaurant in a way that feels contemporary, approachable and considered.
