LITTLE SOI

The brief was to create an Asian street-food restaurant that captured the energy and informality of the street without turning the space into a literal recreation of one. The design therefore works with contrast: an exposed ceiling and concrete-toned surfaces form a restrained architectural shell, while saturated reds, turquoise accents, cane furniture and timber bring in warmth and visual intensity. A dense composition of woven pendant lights animates the ceiling plane, creating the sense of a lively overhead canopy while also bringing the scale of the space closer to the diner.
